We are finally seeing some progress! We were "In the County" (as it is commonly called in our area) from February 21st to May 9th! Almost a record... I did here of another home owner that was "in the county" for 3 months because they were contesting things. We didn't contest, we just did as we were told and we still weren't off much better. It took us so long because we had the wrong setback, had a restricted lot, which required extra analysis and engineering, and an architect and engineer that had never designed a home for our county, so things didn't go as smoothly as it would've with a veteran home designer for this area. Oh well, live and learn... but hopefully never repeat. The good news is that our builder has built in this county a lot and since receiving the permit on Wed, we already have our footings in. Amazing!
Footings!
Not sure what the blue pipe is sticking up, my guess is the footing drain.
In the background is the kid's elementary school, just a stone's throw away.
My daughter posing on a mound of excavated dirt.
On our way home a deer posed for us by the lake. How fun is that?!
Fun, Fun. It was great to have lunch with you and CIndy. We need to meet there more often.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that to have the school so close! And a deer.... I hear they are good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy 14 year old son was like, "Why are you taking a picture of a deer?" Around here, they are so common, they are like kangaroo's in Australia and can be pests when they eat your gardens and trees, but I still think they are cute. Maybe because I haven't had a garden or fruit trees yet.
